Heather King
Board Certified in Family Law,
Texas Board of Legal Specialization
Heather King has been selected one of the area’s top attorneys by Fort Worth Texas Magazine and one of Texas' Best Lawyers.

She has been named to the list of Texas Super Lawyers and the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the state by Texas Monthly. She is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is a former President of the Tarrant County Bar Association.
Ms. King has made a name for herself as the complete family lawyer. She is one of the few family law attorneys with extensive experience from the beginning of a case, through trial or settlement to the handling of an appeal. Because of her range of talents, she is called upon to handle trials and appeals throughout the state.
She joined Koons Fuller in 2007 as a Partner and manager of the firm’s Southlake office.
Ms. King began her association with the legal profession as a receptionist for a Fort Worth firm while an undergraduate at Texas Christian University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. She earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1995.
She is an officer and Director of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, a member of the Family Law Council of the State Bar of Texas, a past President of the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association and a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Ms. King is especially proud of her published appellate cases, many of which are found in the annotations to the Texas Family Code. While her practice is evenly divided between appellate and trial work, she believes the fine sense of detail that leads to a successful appeal makes her better in the courtroom or in a settlement conference.
She has published more than 50 articles on family law topics, given numerous speeches to law groups and co-authored three books for law-related audiences.
Bringing the Koons Fuller approach to family law – large firm benefits in a boutique atmosphere – to residents of Tarrant County and southern Denton County from the Southlake office is a point of pride with her.
“In most divorce cases, a client will have just one attorney,” Ms. King says. “But every so often, a case is so large and complex that you need expertise in such areas as tax law, real estate and business valuation. Koons Fuller can call upon the necessary resources to be successful in a case of any size.”
