Emily Miskel  

Emily Miskel, voted the 2010-2011 Young Lawyer of the Year by the Collin County Young Lawyers Association, is a dynamic family lawyer.

 

She graduated in the top 15% of her class from Stanford University and received her law degree from Harvard Law School.

 

Ms. Miskel is an ideal family lawyer because she can combine her analytical and problem-solving skills with her passion for improving the lives of individuals and families. Before becoming a lawyer, she was a mechanical engineer. She worked for a consulting firm whose clients included multinational oil companies.

 

After graduating from Harvard Law School, Ms. Miskel practiced environmental and intellectual property litigation for a large, AmLaw 200-listed law firm in Dallas. Her trial experience includes large, complex litigation in state courts, federal courts, and even the International Trade Commission. She also trained at the Family Law Trial Institute in Houston, Texas.

 

In addition to her courtroom trial skills, she is also trained in alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law. Her articles on arbitration have been published in Industry Today and the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas & Energy Law. Her training in negotiation benefits clients by increasing the options for reaching resolution. Ms. Miskel’s focus is always on preserving a client’s assets, preserving a client’s relationships with children, and minimizing unnecessary litigation.

With all the marital vicissitudes of the fictional Ewing family, it's fitting that TNT chose the offices of one of Dallas' most prominent divorce attorneys to use as the location for Bobby Ewing's office. Patrick Duffy recently made a 5:30 a.m. visit to the corner office of attorney Ike Vanden Eykel shooting scenes for the show. Ike is a long-time principal in the firm of KoonsFuller, which moved into its Uptown locale overlooking Woodall Rodgers Freeway, last summer.
