Michael D. Wysocki

“Family law attorneys must possess the skills of a counselor, mentor, negotiator, and litigator,” says Michael Wysocki, who came to Koons Fuller this year after three years of practice in Lubbock. “No two families, children or cases are alike. You find unique and creative ways to solve the current problems while preventing future issues as well.”

Mr. Wysocki is the newest associate in the firm’s Dallas office. He has gained a wealth of experience in a short time as a family lawyer, receiving three favorable jury verdicts, each unanimous, while litigating countless bench trials as well as an international child abduction matter. His successes have won him selection as a Texas Rising Star featured in Texas Monthly magazine. He has a Client Review Rating of Preeminent in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, a designation based strictly on the reviews of former clients.

In a recent case, a father had been to three attorneys who told him he needed to come to grips with the fact that he would not obtain custody of his seven-year-old son. Mr. Wysocki disagreed and successfully argued before the judge, winning primary conservatorship for the father.

“A short-term victory is not good enough,” he says. “I strive to build solid and lasting results. I’ve found that through aggressive, result-oriented strategies, focused on the client’s goals, it’s possible to excel in the courtroom and through negotiation.”

Growing up in East Texas, Mr. Wysocki earned his bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2003. He earned his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from Texas Tech School of Law in 2006, then went to work for a firm in Lubbock handling mostly family law cases with some elements of commercial litigation, debt collection and wills and trusts.

He is a member of the State Bars of Texas and New Mexico and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He is also trained in collaborative law and is an active member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas.

Mr. Wysocki came to Koons Fuller in January 2010 to take advantage of the firm’s reputation for excellence. “The attorneys at Koons Fuller are the Michael Jordans and Emmitt Smiths of family law,” he says. “When the game is tied with two seconds left, you want the ball in our hands.”
