Shannon Pritchard
Shannon Pritchard has practiced in a wide variety of legal areas. She incorporates this vast knowledge with her own personal experience as a divorced single mother to put her full focus into family law.
Ms. Pritchard recently joined Koons, Fuller, Vanden Eykel & Robertson, P.C. as an Associate in the Southlake office after practicing in criminal law, bankruptcy, personal injury, probate, general civil litigation and family law.
She says that she initially wanted to work for the firm “due to the respect and prestige the firm has created in the field of family law statewide. But as I progressed through the interview process, I discovered that this is not only a group of smart, accomplished attorneys, but they are all caring, congenial people, as well.”
She grew up in the DFW area and graduated from MacArthur High in Irving. Ms. Pritchard received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997, and earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2000. She was admitted to the bar in November, 2000, and has practiced in Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Collin and Parker counties.
Ms. Pritchard started her own firm, Shannon S. Pritchard & Associates, P.L.L.C, in May 2003. She represented clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, as well as will contests, general civil litigation, and misdemeanor criminal violations. She also assisted clients with incorporation matters, powers of attorney, directives, and collection letters.
She found a natural segue into family law from the personal injury law she had been practicing. Due to extenuating circumstances, her time became split between personal injury and family, and she discovered then that she had a knack for the work, as well as the life experience to relate to the clients, having been married and divorced, as well as being a single mother.
One of her strengths as an attorney is her willingness to tackle any issue, whether or not she has faced it in a prior case. Ms. Pritchard provides a sense of calm for her family law clients. Drawing on personal experience, she becomes a sounding board during a difficult divorce or custody case.
Along with pursuing a law career, Ms. Pritchard has been an active parent, serving as a Girl Scout leader for 12 years (1995 to 2007). She is an advocate for her law school alma mater, and supported her law alumna by serving as a Board Member (2002-2005), Committee Chair (2005-present), and President (2003-2005) of the Texas Wesleyan University Alumni Association.
